Kayakers at Great Falls National Park

Great Falls National Park is in McLean, VA and only about 30 minutes outside of DC. These falls are on the Potomac River and can also be seen from the MD side, although I have not ventured there yet. Honestly, I can't imagine a better view than what we have in McLean.
It's the darndest thing to watch the kayakers actually paddle upstream a bit then get tossed about in the rapids. some roll over, others submerge but I have yet to see an accident there. However, my uncle once found a dead kayaker there probably 25 years ago. It's quite a dangerous area, even for experienced people.
